I would like to learn and test the Zoom features for the classroom.
I would appreciate this as well.
I am more nervous about using the tech -than about teaching. I would love the ability to test zoom first. I would love to be able to offer a free session to my family or friends to test the flow and timing of my class -before I do it for paying customers.
You can open zoom outside of outschool, to play around with it. I made a meeting with my kids to practice! (Use the meeting "now" versus schedule a meeting. https://support.zoom.us/hc/en-us/articles/201362533-Meet-Now-vs-Scheduled-Meetings
I would like to as well. Thanks.
I would Like to learn more about zoom
I've been teaching on zoom for 3 months, I've learned how to inter ack with students and parents. I like teaching on zoom its less stressful.
tHANK You for the tutorial!
some good points to know
I have been teaching online since 2007 so I'm very familiar with the need to "interact." Teaching with the brain in mind in a live physical classroom requires student interaction continuously and online requires even more to keep students engaged, focused and to learn to LOVE learning.
I would like to test ZOOM as well before hand. I already have a well lit area with a white board, my issue would be with uploading and downloading work: students to teacher, teacher to students. ZOOM seems like a good medium for activity such as a gym class, learning how to dance, do exercises etc... but if the need is for CORE classes, is there a ZOOM white board? Thank you.
Here's a video about using Zoom, the breakout rooms, the whiteboard etc.
Hmm, I'm getting a 404 error message with that link. Could you repost?
Go to YouTube first. Then enter the link: https://youtu.be/w9rKsBSWRLU
I've been using Zoom for awhile and love all the engagement tools. The whiteboard and annotation tools are wonderful for getting participants to engage with you as well as clearer representation than sometimes having your own whiteboards in the background. I am happy this is Outschool's video conference tool of choice.
I have worked with zoom before. However I would like to know more about downloading and uploading work to students through zoom.
As a former IT manager, this article concerned me and it concerns the whole teaching platform you're basing your business on, so we obviously want you to stay in business so that we have a place to teach. Are you working with Zoom to address these issues or are you looking at a different platform?

I am a certified teacher who has been teaching online since 2005, Zoom is a conference platform not a classroom. We teach in an online classroom built to teach CORE curriculum. Please visit me in my classroom, this is Ms. Kim SchoolatHome.online ... I'm hearing this all over ... no where to teach ... Oh my GOSH there are tons of online actual classrooms, Zoom not one of them, thank you.
I am brand new to Zoom. I do have experience teaching online. We, like many other school districts around the world, have recently moved to online learning with the current pandemic. We have been made aware of several concerns with the Zoom platform. I'm sure you are also aware of these. I can see others that have addressed this in the thread here. Are there plans to mitigate these concerns - possibly using GMeets?
I would like to attach files for all participants
I would like to get started with the class that you must approve and also to use Zoom.
This seems like a opportunity I would like to do. Since the virus no teaching jobs have been available, and this is a perfect platform to teach students some great skills.
Zoom has tutorials. Currently the popularity of zoom has slowed down its responsiveness. Also, it is a good idea to use pass words as hackers can enter your classroom.
How do we use passwords? I just started. TIA
I have used Zoom as a participant, and I'm excited to use it as a teacher. Thanks for all of the tips in the comments. I'll need to practice a bit. : )
This video was great! I'm looking forward to teaching online using Zoom with students all over the world.
Thank you for this video! I do use zoom so I am familiar with Zoom environment. I am looking forward to teaching with Outschool and thank you for the opportunity! Stay safe everyone!
I am looking forward to begin teaching at Outschool. I am just learning to use Zoom as it the only means of actual get togethers these days.
NYC Dept of Education has told teachers not to use Zoom any more for their online classes because of hacking issues.
Great Video! Looking forward to beginning!
I will get going on this in the next few days . There was someone in Berkeley who caused the need to shut down schooling a few days ago. I am not sure if it was on Zoom or not.
Thanks. I got this!
Hi. I am new at Outschool. I used zoom before, but I do not know where I should paste the link of zoom for my classes in Outschool ?
also, After each class, I would like to send to my students the link of the video of the class and send a PDF for their homework. Where should I post this information for my my students ?
When students have questions, where they post it ? or they send me an e-mail ?
I would like to know where I can find the safety tips for teaching a class.
Please me the ZOOM app.
I would like to know how to use the Zoom Instructor controls effectively.
I was approved to teach on Outschool only today! So, thank you! I feel I have a very long way to go. I have viewed and heard the video and read all of the comments above me. I began using the Zoom app a short time ago. So far it has been working adequately for me. I hope, however, the justified concerns about using this app are dispelled in short order. But, meanwhile…it’s time for me to get back to the ‘woodshed’ so-to-speak😊
Thank you for approving me to teach at Outschool!
I am waiting for Outschool to finish accepting my application, background check, etc. Once they do I, can offer a zoom class. I know they have had issues with hacking but I believe many school districts are still using the platform with updated safety features.
I am new to this community. Can I communicate with someone experienced to learn how to make better virtual lessons?
Good morning from CST in Mississippi. Where do I locate the guideline for safe guarding children while teaching? I’m practicing that with Zooming children already but want to be compliant!
I was approved to teach last week, and I am a teacher as well. I need to prepare for my classes and see what they will look like, ie. I don't want to have trouble using a particular tool in the middle of teaching 5 year olds. Does anyone have tips on how to use Zoom for preparation?
I was approved today and just diving into the "getting started" materials. I am a teacher at an alternative (homeschool) school and have been using Zoom these past 2 months to teach my school kids. I notice that they example videos of the science teacher Ben only show his video feed when he is teaching about genetics. I wonder how he gets the record to only record his face.
I was approved yesterday and ready to learn all that I need to learn to get started. Should I wait until I have my conversation with the Outschool teacher before teaching my first class?
Yay! Approved today.
Is there any way we can sit in on class just to get a sense of how everything goes together?
I would like to know which are the most popular subject areas Math for First Grade, Reading for First Grade or Spanish; please answer on my email address: email@example.com
I would also like to know what your NEEDS are. I am a distinguished ART and Reading teacher, and would like to know what age/grade and what is NEEDED, so it is a win-win for us both. Kimltemple@sbcglobal.net
Im early in the process waiting on the approval. Im excited cant wait to get started
I just heard back today and submitted my background check. Once that goes through, I will hopefully be approved! I am so excited to begin teaching on with this company!
Thank you for the video.
I was trying to get Google Classroom (G Suite for Education) for Outschool.com, but someone must have already done this. Any advice?
Thanks for the video! Good luck everyone!❤️
